How is a fire-protection tank protected in a marine environment?

Coastal and port areas are among the most aggressive environments for steel structures. Salt spray, high humidity and saline atmosphere significantly accelerate corrosion processes, affecting long-term system reliability.

For fire-protection tanks, corrosion protection is a key requirement for us. For this reason, we use steel sheets with zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating ZM310, specifically designed to perform in highly corrosive environments.

The ZM310 coating provides a stable protective barrier, ensures long-term resistance even in the presence of chlorides typical of marine conditions, protects cut edges and processed areas, and significantly reduces degradation compared to traditional galvanizing.

Our goal is not only to resist rust, but to preserve structural integrity, watertightness and operational safety over time.

A concrete example is an installation carried out in the port area of Trieste, serving a chemical industrial site, where the reliability of the fire protection system plays a crucial role

Each project is developed based on the installation environment. We design and manufacture each tank by selecting materials and technical solutions consistent with real operating conditions, because durability is a fundamental element of safety.
